I came back home and changed into my comfy pajamas. Mom and Dadβboth mine and Dheer'sβwere on a couple's date in Seychelles.
Bhai made a scene, declaring that he didn't want another competitor in the property.
He made it clear to everyone. Not that I careβproperty isn't my problem. My husband already has plenty.
But the real issue here? These old men and women, who should be taking sanyas from this moh-maya, are out there living like teenagers. And me?
I haven't even had a honeymoon. Instead, I make monthly trips to the hospital.
Lost in my thoughts, I walked into the hall, where Kiaan was sprawled on the couch, his college bag dumped on the floor.
I shook his leg before sitting beside him, grabbing his bag.
"It's empty," he said, sitting up.
"There's only one chocolate left in our snack bucket at home. You know that, right?" I asked, crossing my legs.
"It's already gone. I ate that chocolate yesterday," he replied while loosening his tie and folding his sleeves.
"Where's my share?" I asked, frustration creeping into my voice.
"What share? If I remember correctly, you already ate more than half of the snacks," he shot back, stating cold, hard facts.
"Okay, okay. Don't be angry. Just buy me a small chocolate, please," I said, trying to calm myself.
"I don't have the money. I'm saving my pocket money this month," he replied. And, truth be told, I felt betrayed and hurt.
"You don't have money for a βΉ10 chocolate? You're saving your pocket money? And waitβyou actually get pocket money?" I tried to stay calm, but the sheer number of shocking revelations made me blurt it out louder than intended.
"Yes! I don't even have money for a βΉ1 toffee! I haven't had a single pack of chips all week because I'm saving my pocket money to buy something. And yes, I get pocket money every month.
And, for the record, you were the one who ate more than half of the snacks from the snack bucket while making excuses about your menstrual days," Kiaan retorted, his tone even louder than mine.
It hurt. Oh, my poor heart! It couldn't take so much betrayal in a single day.
"I'm still on my period! I haven't had snacks or chocolate for three whole days! No one gives me pocket money. My husband hasn't taken me on a single date since our weddingβforget about a honeymoon.Β
I wanted to be an independent woman, but he said my salary is in negative. I'm in debt to Shrutiβshe's the one buying me my daily necessities!" I ranted, blurting out everything in my head, hoping at least one thing in my miserable life was worth pitying.
"Shit, shitβBhabhi, yaar! You can't do this to me! Fine! Hereβtake this. Take my card, my insurance, my everything! I don't want to save money anymore. I'll plan a Chandni Chowk trip for you with my next month's pocket money. And, waitβyou just reminded meβI didn't even get paid!" he exclaimed.
"Why would you get paid?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. Is he even working?
"I'm the one handling the cybersecurity for our companiesβincluding Dheeraj Bhai's, Ishaan Bhai's, and my Bhai's companyβso obviously, I should be getting paid," he said. Well, that's a new tea for me. I turned towards him, intrigued.
"Okay, okay, slow down. Tell meβhow much do you get paid monthly?" I asked. He was about to open his mouth but suddenly stopped, narrowing his eyes at me suspiciously.
"What?" I asked. "Just tell meβhow much do you get paid?"
"I'm not disclosing my salary in front of you. You'll blackmail me until I have no money left for my hard times," he said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Okay, as you wish." I shrugged, pretending not to care. "I was about to post about it on my page, though. There are alreadyβwait, let me checkβhmm... 5,789 girls registered for you."
"Registered? What do you mean by registered?" he asked, confusion evident on his face.
"Oh, did I forget to tell you? I sellβI mean, I postβyour, Ishaan Bhai's, Luv Bhai's, and Kush Bhai's traits, hobbies, monthly pictures, and everything else for girls who want to marry you all. Basically, I'm playing cupid for you guys," I answered honestly, letting him realize what a responsible sister-in-law I am.
"What?! Bhabi, youβoh god. That's why Krish doesn't take me seriously now! That's why last week that girlβwait... did you get paid when they registered?" he asked, and it was at this moment that I realized just how important it is to control one's tongue sometimes.
"What... What are you talking about? It's... it's a public service! Why would I ask for money for something like that?" I replied, trying to sound confident.
"How much?" he asked, stepping right in front of me.
"Huh?"
"How much did you earn by selling our personal details on social media?
How much did you make by putting our izzat on stake?
What will our future wives think about us?
Bhabi, I didn't know you were like this," he said with such utter seriousness that it felt like I had just auctioned him off in the market.
"Bhai... Bhai, control! I'll delete it! I'll delete your profile! I'll even pay them back the regis...ter...at...ion... fee," I stammered, once again reminded that you should never let your tongue destroy my relationshipsβbut right now, it was destroying my life.
"Hmm... so you really were earning by selling us, huh?" Kiaan said, towering over me. But in the blink of an eye, he was suddenly beside me, sitting cross-legged on the couch.
"So, how much were you charging per registration?" he asked.
"I...HUH?"
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Just tell meβI want to earn some money too," Kiaan said enthusiastically.
"Okay, so the charges are different for all of you," I started, but he cut me off.
"Bhabi, choose your words wisely. Badi gandi feeling aa rahi hai," Kiaan muttered while unrolling his sleeves and buttoning his top button.
"Ewww, don't think like that! Okay, so for you, the charge is βΉ700 per registration. For Luv Bhai, it's βΉ1,000.Β
For Kush Bhai, it's βΉ1,700. And for Ishaan Bhai, it's βΉ2,200. It was βΉ2,000 at first, but with his increasing demand in the market, I raised the price," I told him, and his reaction was priceless.
His eyes widened in complete shock.
"Hey, Kiaan," I shook his shoulder, bringing him back to reality.
"You mean... my price is the lowest? Even Luv Bhai is worth βΉ1,000 per registration, and I only get βΉ700? Bhabi, increase my price! I don't care howβjust increase my price!" he almost whined like a child.
"Kiaan... forgive me for saying this, but right now, you're literally sounding like aβyou knowβsomeone who wants to increase his price," I said, and he let go of my shoulder, pouting.
"Ok, here, add Krish to your profile too. Set his registration price to 500," Kiaan said, and I was happy to oblige. He just wanted a 20% share of the moneyβit would be a great deal.
The matter was over. We propped down on the couch, watching some movie to kill time while waiting for Dheer and Bhai so they could cook some food for us.
Β It's not like we didn't try to make something, but the ingredients present in the kitchen were new to our eyes. There wasn't any sign of Maggi or pasta, so we made our way back to the hall without disturbing the peace of the kitchen.
It's been years since I started having periods, but every time, it comes with new surprises. Last time, I had mood swings and crampsβwell, the cramps are still there but bearableβbut the flow is so heavy.
It's the fourth time I've changed my pad in the last three hours. I decided to check it online. Well, bad decision because the result I got was scary.
A sudden, excessively heavy period can sometimes indicate a serious medical condition that requires immediate attention. Some alarming possibilities include:
Hemorrhaging (Severe Blood Loss) β If you're soaking multiple pads/tampons per hour, you risk dangerous blood loss, weakness, and even shock.
Miscarriage β If sexually active, heavy bleeding with clots and severe cramps could indicate a silent miscarriage.
Ectopic Pregnancy Rupture β If pregnancy occurs outside the uterus, it can rupture, causing life-threatening internal bleeding.
Blood Clotting Disorders β Diseases like von Willebrand disease or leukemia can cause unstoppable bleeding.
Uterine or Cervical Cancer β Sudden heavy bleeding, especially post-menopause or between cycles, can be an early cancer warning sign.
Ruptured Cysts or Fibroids β A bursting cyst or fibroid can lead to intense pain, internal bleeding, and emergency situations.
If your heavy bleeding is sudden, extreme, or accompanied by dizziness, fainting, severe pain, or clotting larger than a coin, seek urgent medical help.
Like... what the actual fuck? I am not dying this soon. Relax.
But what if I am actually having a serious disease or something? Everything is going fine with my life.
The competition is approaching, my design is ready, I am prepared. I even added one more profile, so my earnings will increase.
And then, suddenly, one day, I do a medical checkup, and it comes up with something serious?
Ok, enough of the overthinking.
"Oh, well... why are you saving money? I mean, are you planning to buy something?" Suddenly, I remembered what Kiaan said about saving his pocket money, so I asked.
"Huh... ah... nothing... nothing special," he replied. Hmm, new gossip incoming.
"Spill the tea," I told him, and that was it for him.
"Actually, Bhabi... there's a girl..." he said.
"OHHHHHH A GIRLLLLL... hmm hmm... continue..."
"No, nothing like that! I mean... she is a friend..."
"Ohhhh, friend. GIRL + FRIEND... Ok, ok..."
"Bhabi, yaar! I am not telling you," he said, getting irritated.
"Ok, ok! I won't tease you. Tell me," I said, my stomach dancing to Gasolina, waiting for some juicy love storyβor maybe a love triangle.
"Actually, Krish and I have two girl... friends. FRIENDS. And it's her birthday, so I am saving to buy something for her," he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
Ok, so he also has the same habit of rubbing his neck like Dheer when he's shy.
"Ok, so what's your budget? I mean, what did you plan to buy for her?
There are many options to gift a girlβlike a bag from Gucci, shoes from Prada, perfume from Chanel or Dior, or maybe some skincare from La Mer..."
"Bhabi, bhabi..."
"Huh?"
"Where do you buy your clothes?" he asked.
"Sarojini Nagar... or maybe Janpath Market during sales," I replied.
"And where do you buy your jewelry?" he asked again, raising his brows.
"Chandni ChowkβDariba Kalan & Kinari Bazaar," I replied.
"So, what's with those high-fi La Mer, La Ter, and Guchi Puchi?" he said, rolling his eyes.
"Oh hello, not every girl is like me, ok? I am a low-maintenance girl. I don't want to waste your brother's or my brother's moneyβthat's why I buy things from these markets.
As for those brands... Shruti told me to learn their names to act classy and cool," my voice dropped to a mere whisper.
Whisper se yaad aaya, napkin khatam ho rahe hain. Dheer ko message karna hai.
"Oh Bhabi, you are so cute..." Kiaan said while laughing.
Why is everyone calling me cute today? Is it a synonym for idiot or stupid? Harkatein toh meri pagalon wali hi hain.
Hot or sexy toh mere liye kisi ki dictionary mein hai hi nahi...
"Actually, the girl I'm talking about... she doesn't like any fancy things. She's simple, so I think she will like something simple.
I'm saving money for her. I want to buy something special, I mean, something she can use and cherish.Β
But I don't know what to gift her. If it's Mom, then I would have gifted her some books.
If it's you, I could gift you chocolates or bike accessories, but what can I gift her?
I'm confused," he said, looking into the distance, just babbling whatever came to his mind.
I couldn't help but ruffle his hair as he sat on the floor, his back to the couch.
"The girl is already so lucky to have you as her friend. But if you really want to gift her something meaningful, then..."
"Then what? Give me some ideas," he asked, but I was also confused.
"I don't know... I mean, all I can think about is bikes, customized helmets or jackets, or chocolates. Ummm, let's think," and with that, we both started thinking. Like, seriously thinking.
"Bhabi, did you get any idea?" Kiaan asked a while later.
"Not yet. My brain is not braining," I replied.
"Ok, listen. See, as you said that she's a simple girl who doesn't like fancy things, why don't we make something handmade?
I mean, something customized," I said, and my voice got louder as I finished the sentence.
Kiaan's face lit up.
"Huh? Yes! Oh god, why didn't I think about it before?" he said, almost jumping.
"But I am the one giving the gift. Why did you say 'we'?" he asked, raising his brows suspiciously.
"Because I am also preparing a gift for her," I said, grinning.
"Why? You don't even know her," he asked.
"So what? Let's do one thingβI will prepare a gift for her and you give it to her, but don't tell her that it's from me.
Or else, who knows, she might become interested in me," I said, flexing my hair.
"Ha Ha Ha, so funny," he said, and we started searching for things.
He decided to make a bow for her, and I decided to make some cute jewelry.
We visited the market to buy the needed materials. Obviously, Kiaan paid for the things as I am BROKE.
But I will pay him back once Dheer is back.
It's just 5, still two hours before Dheer or Bhai comes. So we decided to start preparing the gift to kill time and ignore our empty stomachs.
Kiaan didn't know how to make a bow. He tried to make one out of ribbon but failed miserably.
I tried, but the result was horrible, so he visited the market again and bought a simple bow and decided to stitch pearls to it and do some simple embroidery.
As for me, well, I thought of making pearly earrings but ended up making a few more weirdΒ hair clips. They look cute, though.
We were sitting facing each other's backs, hence unable to see what we were making.
Kiaan was going to lose his fingers because of the needle and embroidery, so I taught him some simple floral designs. He is so eager to learn.
Guess what? The girl is already more than just a friend. I just wish that if she is the right girl for him and if he is the right guy for her, then God protects them from any evil eye.
After fighting for materials and pearls, finally, what felt like an eternity later, we were able to prepare the proper gifts.
Right now, we are looking at our masterpieces with sparkles in our eyes.
"Bhabi, should we start an online business? We will deliver it by ourselves," Kiaan said. He was almost jumping in place, but the bow he made is literally so beautiful that I want to take it.
The bow turned out better than the reference.

(IF HE WANT HE WOULDπ€)
But my earrings and clips are looking like some cheap leftovers. Yet he is taking their pictures like they are some sort of branded jewelry.
I am not emotional; it's just my hormones. My life revolves around hormones.

"The bow... it's beautiful," I said. Well, it's awkward.
"I know you will drool over my masterpiece. That's why I already planned ahead," he said and took out a small bow from his pocket.
"Mai ro dungi, mai bata rahi hu," I said and took the bow. It's beautiful. I will cherish it till my last breath.

After cleaning up the mess we had created in the hall, we packed the gift in small boxes and then put all the boxes into a big box.
Finally, exhaling a deep breath, we once again propped down on the couch, hunger taking over us.
Not able to control it anymore, we ordered large-sized pizzas, lava pastries, and subways.
Dheer and Bhai are late, probably stuck in meetings and all, so we chose the easiest way of paymentβby sharing the QR codes with them for payment.
The payment was cleared within minutes. We took our time eating till our hearts were content and chit-chatted for a while until sleep consumed us.
WILL SHE ACCEPT HIS GIFT?
WHO DO You GUYS Think THE GIRL IS?
β¨ A Little Note Before You Leaveβ¨
I love their chemistryβit's been so long since they last interacted, so this chapter is just for them! π
Funny thing? This scene wasn't even planned. It was supposed to be about Shruti and Dheeraj, but my characters had other ideas.
So if it feels a little childish or chaotic, just pretend it's artistic freedom. πβ¨
AlsoβYOU GUYS! You completed the target in one day! I thought I had time to breathe, but nope, here I am, writing like a possessed writer. π Love you all for this! β€οΈ
Since my exams are near, I am planning to update faster before my exams.
And Kiaan & Shaanvi's story? It keeps changing script in my head, so I had to put it somewhere.
